ArCade II, the UK s second Open International Exhibition of Electronic
Prints, opens this month in Brighton. The exhibition includes original,
limited edition, artists prints, which at some stage in their production
have involved the use of computers to generate and manipulate the imagery.
Inclusion of work has been mainly through selection from open submission,
although some artists are included by invitation.

The exhibition, which includes work by eighty artists from twelve
countries, is curated by Sue Gollifer. She is a Senior Lecturer in the
School of Art at the University of Brighton, and is the Art Coordinator
for the Computers in Teaching Initiative: Art and Design (CTIAD). Other
selectors were: Gail Braybon, University of Brighton; Mike North,
Loughborough College of Art and Design; and Martin Reiser, University of
West England.

After the initial showing at Brighton in January, this exhibition will be
linked to a Second European conference on Computers in Art & Design
Education (CADE), to be held at the University of Derby 1- 4 April 1997.
Other venues include Kensington & Chelsea College Art Gallery, London: 18
April- 8 May; Stoke City Museum & Gallery 24 June- 25 August; with two
further venues to be confirmed. The tour is being organised through the
University of Brighton Exhibitions Unit. Associated with the exhibition
will be a World Wide Web Gallery, with links to the individual WWW Home
Pages of participating artists. A CD-ROM catalogue will be available later
in the year.
